Liam J. McCarthy

Liam concentrates his practice on first-party property insurance coverage and subrogation matters. He represents a wide variety of insurers in connection with claims under personal and commercial lines policies. Liam has extensive experience litigating coverage matters in state and federal courts, providing advice and opinions regarding insurance coverage and policy interpretation, and handling Examinations Under Oath, References, and Appraisals.

He did his undergraduate work and played varsity baseball at Haverford College, where he received a B.A. in Economics in 1996. In 1999 he earned his J.D. from the University of Maine School of Law. During his time there, he also studied with the Law Faculty at the National University of Ireland, Galway.

Liam is a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators, the National Association of Subrogation Professionals, and the Property Loss Research Bureau. He is a Past President of the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators and served on the New England Chapter Committee of the National Association of Subrogation Professionals for several years.

Liam has been a frequent speaker to insurance trade groups and companies and to fire cause and origin investigators on a variety of topics related to insurance coverage and subrogation and to fire investigation.
